Helm UK
Fusion Processing Ltd took part in the HelmUK Advanced Platooning Trial, the first real-world operational trial of platooning vehicles on UK roads. A bespoke version of Fusion Processing’s CAVstar automated drive system is being used as part of the trial. Use of platooning has the potential to greatly increase fuel efficiency, reduce carbon emissions for trucks and improve safety.
Fusion’s sensing and data logging system enables accurate identification and analysis of the behaviours of other vehicles around the platoon, together with full logging of vehicle data. This data will enable road safety specialists to ascertain the safety limits of platoon a operations on UK highways.
