Bristol, 16th February 2022, Fusion Processing Ltd, today, announced Nick Sturge has joined the automated drive company as non-executive Chairman.
Nick joins the board alongside CEO Jim Hutchinson, CFO Ian Selwood and Marketing Director Jim Fleming. Together they lead the multidisciplinary Fusion team in developing state-of-the-art automated drive systems and ADAS technologies for the automotive sector.
As a Chartered Director and strategic advisor Nick has a strong background in developing technologies and supporting businesses on their growth trajectories. His experience with supporting many growing technology companies during his time at SETsquared Bristol ensures Nick is well placed to help Fusion Processing expand into new high growth sectors, such as automating freight, logistics and local delivery vehicles.

Fusion Processing’s automated drive systems are being used in a number of leading autonomous vehicle trials, including CAVForth – a project led by Fusion in partnership with Stagecoach Group, Alexander Dennis, Transport Scotland, Napier University and the Bristol Robotics Lab. The project is on track to deploy a bus service carrying up to 10,000 passengers per week later in 2022. Fusion is also supplying their automated drive system to MultiCAV, a project with First Group and Oxfordshire County Council to trial autonomous electric last-mile passenger services at Milton Park, Oxfordshire.
Fusion’s innovative ADAS products include a Camera Mirror System that replaces cumbersome HGV and bus wing mirrors with CycleEyeCMS units that pack high-resolution optical cameras, infrared and radar into a sleek unit, feeding HD video to screens mounted on the vehicle A-pillars. These innovations add up to unrivalled visibility around the vehicle, coupled with visual and audible warnings to the driver to alert them to vulnerable road users moving alongside the vehicle.
